On March 15th, the roundtable event entitled “What happens after a degree in Mechanical Engineering? – Options and perspectives” took place in the Grand Auditorium of the NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA, organized by the Scientific Committee of the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (LEMc).
The first edition of NOVA MATH - UNIDEMI Talks took place on March 15th, an event that aims to promote knowledge sharing and teamwork between the scientific areas of Mathematics and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, through their respective Research Centers at the NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA.

Last Friday, March 10th, the Open Lesson organized by NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA took place within the scope of the M4ML Project, with the theme “Green Shipping Corridors and Sustainable Maritime Chains”, in which we were able to count on the presence of several speakers specialized in the different areas of Maritime Logistics.
The four students from NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA selected for internships under the M4ML Project had the opportunity to learn more about maritime logistics in a class taught by Professor Stein Ove Erikstad, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
UNIDEMI, led by Professor Luís Lapão, is developing a project in partnership with the Lisbon City Council (CML) and other national and international partners whose main objective is to obtain, for the first time, direct and accurate measurements of daily ultraviolet solar radiation doses and estimate the risk of developing skin cancer.
Doctor Susana Duarte, Professor at DEMI and Researcher at UNIDEMI, was awarded the “Woman in Industry and Academia” Award by the Industrial Engineering & Operations Management (IEOM) Society International.
On March 8th, at 2 pm, Professor Celeste Jacinto will give a workshop entitled “Good Practices in Occupational Safety - Investigation and Analysis of Work Accidents”, at the Auditorium of the National Headquarters of the Order of Engineers, in Lisbon.
DEMI begins 2023 with a strong focus on hiring new professors for the areas of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management.
