On March 8th, at 2:00 pm, Professor Celeste Jacinto will teach a workshop entitled "Good Practices in Occupational Safety - Investigation and Analysis of Workplace Accidents" at the Auditorium of the National Headquarters of the Order of Engineers, in Lisbon.
The main objective of the event is to disseminate best practices related to the investigation and analysis of Workplace Accidents (WA), highlighting the use of information collected in this process to ensure that lessons learned are disseminated, aiming to create collective learning.
During this workshop, a brief review of various approaches and techniques created specifically for the investigation and analysis of Workplace Accidents will be provided. The RIAAT (Registration, Investigation, and Analysis of Workplace Accidents) procedure will then be described in greater detail. This procedure already incorporates not only modern theories of causality but also the harmonized European variables, defined by Eurostat, for reporting WA to authorities.
Celeste Jacinto is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Researcher at UNIDEMI - Research and Development Unit in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, where she conducts research in the field of Industrial and Occupational Safety.
