António Grilo, Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (DEMI) at FCT NOVA, was elected president of the National Innovation Agency (ANI). The decision was made at the General Assembly on March 7th by ANI's two shareholders, IAPMEI (Ministry of Economy) and the Foundation for Science and Technology (Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education).
President of DEMI since 2018, he was a member of the NOVA.ID Board, coordinator of the UNIDEMI Research Center, and a founding member of the Associated Laboratory for Intelligent Systems.
António Grilo has published over 100 articles in international scientific journals and participated in conferences and book chapters in the areas of Interoperability, Digital Platforms, Artificial Intelligence Applications, and Blockchain in Industry and Services. He has managed more than 20 research, development, and innovation projects, primarily in partnership with companies.
More recently, he has dedicated himself to developing connections between academia and industry, transferring knowledge and know-how to professionals through executive training. He coordinates the Postgraduate Program in Supply Chain Management, the Postgraduate Program in Agile Project Management, and the Inspiring Tech Safari course at the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA). He is also passionate about supporting the development of startups and entrepreneurship in the university environment.
