The Structural Mechanics Center (NME) provides teaching services to students at various levels and conducts research in the following areas: Dynamics of Structures and Mechanical Systems, Experimental Modal Analysis, Damage and Fault Detection and Localization, Structural Optimization, Structural Reliability, and Biomechanics.
The Center is responsible for teaching courses that address the topics of Statics and Dynamics of Particles and Rigid Bodies, Theories of Elasticity and Plasticity, Strength of Materials, Mechanical Vibrations, and Condition Analysis of Mechanical Systems. It also teaches courses that make extensive use of numerical and experimental methods in engineering.
This Center is associated with the Structural Mechanics Laboratory, which provides the experimental component of the courses and facilitates research by faculty.
All teachers are integrated into the UNIDEMI, where they carry out their research and technological development activities.
