The first edition of NOVA MATH - UNIDEMI Talks took place on March 15th. Its aim is to promote knowledge sharing and teamwork between the scientific fields of Mathematics and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, through their respective Research Centers at the NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA.
This first edition of the event focused on the following topics: In-line monitoring in Metal Additive Manufacturing to identify defects using artificial intelligence; Application of intelligent systems and decision sciences in supply chain management; and What do police officers, production plans, fire insurance, and supply chain design and planning have in common?
The speakers at the first edition were Telmo Santos, Helena Carvalho, Miguel Machado, and Pedro Espadinha da Cruz, professors in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and researchers at UNIDEMI, and Ana Luísa Custódio and Nelson Chibeles Martins, professors in the Department of Mathematics and researchers at NOVA MATH.
