The four students from the NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA selected for internships under the M4ML Project had the opportunity to learn more about maritime logistics in a class taught by Professor Stein Ove Erikstad of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), who visited FCT NOVA as part of this project.

During this class, Professor Stein shared his experience and knowledge of maritime logistics with the students, covering topics such as cargo transportation, green route planning, and energy optimization of maritime cargo transportation.

These four students from the Integrated Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management, who will participate in the mobility program planned for NTNU in Norway, also had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas with Professor Stein and the FCT NOVA professors involved in the M4ML project.

M4ML is a project promoted by EEA Grants* and the DGPM – Directorate General for Maritime Policy, in partnership with FCT NOVA, NTNU, and Qualiseg.

* About the EEA Grants

Through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway are partners in the internal market with the Member States of the European Union. To promote a continuous and balanced strengthening of economic and trade relations, the parties to the EEA Agreement have established a multiannual Financial Mechanism, known as the EEA Grants. The EEA Grants aim to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe and strengthen bilateral relations between these three countries and the beneficiary countries.
