The Fluid Mechanics and Applied Thermodynamics Center carries out its teaching activities, responsible for the courses in its scientific area that are part of the Integrated Master's in Engineering curriculum.
It covers not only core courses such as Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, and Applied Thermodynamics, but also specialized training courses such as: Thermal Machines, Hydraulic Machines, Energy and Environment, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Aerodynamics, Energy Efficiency, and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
The faculty currently consists of five Professors and one Visiting Professor. Its professors are involved in research in the scientific areas covered by the section, namely Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, and Hydrodynamics.
The Center has a Laboratory of approximately 400 square meters where, among other equipment, a Boundary Layer Aerodynamic Tunnel stands out with an experiment chamber that is 9 meters long and has a cross-section of 1.5x1 square meters.
