The 1st edition of the MeetUp PhD Industrial Engineering took place on December 16th, events that will be held within the scope of Programa Doutoral em Engenharia Industrial, in the new space dedicated to students of this doctoral program.
On December 15th, at 11 am, a Mobility Workshop will take place at the Quality Laboratory (room 4.01 of Building VIII) that will present internship opportunities for Master's students in three prestigious Norwegian companies in the maritime-port industry.
The EMPORIA4KT - INTERREG Atlantic Space project, coordinated by NOVA School of Science and Technology, in the person of Professor António Grilo and with the collaboration of professors and researchers from DEMI / UNIDEMI, DCEA / MARE and DCSA / CIUHCT, was the winner of the Atlantic Awards 2022, in the category "Blue skills and ocean literacy".
The 3D Printing Center 4 Health project, created by UNIDEMI, LIBPhys and FCT LAB, was the big winner in the Social Responsibility category of the 16th edition of the "The Best & The Biggest in Technological Portugal" awards promoted by the magazines Exame Informática and Visão.
Vasco Ventura Soares, Master in Industrial Engineering and Management from FCT NOVA, won the Award for Best Master's Dissertation in the area of Quality and Organizational Excellence.
Student Filipa Cunha, supervised by Professor José Xavier and Professor Telmo G. Santos, participated in the 16th International Conference on Advances in Experimental Mechanics at the University of Oxford, organized by the British Society for Strain Measurement, where she was one of the 4 finalists in the Young Stress Analyst Competition.
On September 30th, another edition of the European Researchers' Night took place, an event coordinated by the National Museum of Natural History and Science and the University of Lisbon, which included not only online activities, but also more than 100 in-person activities.
We welcome Assistant Professor Duarte Albuquerque, who officially joined DEMI on September 22nd and will be an important addition to the Fluid Mechanics and Applied Thermodynamics team.
On September 28th, the Inauguration Ceremony of the New Board of Directors and Department Directors of FCT NOVA took place.
As part of the new Master's degree in Maritime Logistics, a partnership was established with APAT - Portuguese Freight Forwarders Association with a view to mutually enhancing the training of professionals in the area of maritime logistics.
