The 3D Printing Center 4 Health project, created by UNIDEMI, LIBPhys, and FCT LAB, was the big winner in the Social Responsibility category of the 16th edition of the "Best & Biggest in Technological Portugal" awards, promoted by Exame Informática and Visão magazines.
These awards, which annually recognize entrepreneurs, innovators, companies, and institutions in the fields of Science and Technology, aim to amplify the creation of knowledge and the generation of technology-based wealth in our country.
The 3D Printing Center 4 Health is a non-profit center coordinated by Professor Cláudia Quaresma (Department of Physics). Its main objective is to promote, coordinate, and implement technological development activities with social impact in the areas of health and functional independence, using 3D printing, through the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge in the fields of Medicine and Engineering.
This center collaborates with several healthcare institutions, specifically in the adaptation and development of prosthetics, assistive devices, and other healthcare devices using 3D printing techniques.
