Seminar on Aneurysms of the Ascending Thoracic Aorta with Professor Nele Famaey

15-10-2024

As part of the AneurysmTool project, coordinated by Prof. José Xavier, professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (DEMI) at NOVA FCT, an online seminar will be held with the participation of Prof. Nele Famaey, a specialist in Mechanical Engineering at KU Leuven, Belgium.
The event, which will take place on October 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. (Brasília time), will focus on the topic "Distensibility as a Criterion for Rupture in Aneurysms of the Ascending Thoracic Aorta," bringing an innovative perspective to the field of Mechanical Engineering applied to medicine.
This seminar is part of the project's activities, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) DOI: 10.54499/PTDC/EMD-EMD/1230/2021, and promises to share important advances in scientific research and methods for predicting the risk of aneurysm rupture, a serious condition that affects cardiovascular health.

The session is part of UNIDEMI's research activities and aims to complement training in Mechanical Engineering and related fields, providing participants with a unique opportunity for scientific updating with an internationally renowned expert.
