On June 13th, student Diogo Gomes, a finalist in the Integrated Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management, won the Most Innovative Research Award at the 6th International Conference on Quality Engineering and Management (ICQEM). The conference took place on June 13th and 14th in Girona, Spain, and is one of the most prestigious international conferences in the field of quality.
Diogo Gomes presented his paper, entitled "Use of Control Charts to Define Diagnostic and Activity Reference Levels for PET/CT Studies in Adults: A Local Study." Regarding the experience, the student stated: "It was a huge privilege for me to be able to present the work and to have received such recognition for it, thus being able to represent DEMI and NOVA FCT to other institutions."
The student made a point of expressing his gratitude to Professor Ana Sofia Matos, his advisor, stating: "I want to extend a huge thank you to Professor Ana Sofia Matos, my advisor, for all her support and dedication, which made all the difference in this experience!"
Diogo Gomes' achievement not only highlights the excellence of his research but is also a source of pride for DEMI and the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA FCT).
This year's ICQEM featured over 100 abstracts, 71 full papers, and speakers from 25 different countries. It is important to note that the conference is indexed by Scopus, reinforcing its importance and relevance in the field of quality.
