Dr. Augusto Carreira on mobility in Norway within the scope of the M4ML Project

12-05-2023

From April 23rd to 29th, Dr. Augusto Carreira traveled to Norway as part of an initiative promoted by the M4ML (Mobility for Maritime Logistics) Project, funded by EEA Grants Portugal under the Blue Growth Programme. The main objective of this initiative is to enhance the sustainable growth of the Portuguese "blue economy," adding more value to it, as well as promoting education, research, and training in marine and maritime fields.

During his visit to Norway, Dr. Augusto Carreira was welcomed by Professor Stein Ove Erikstad of the Department of Maritime Technology at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), a partner organization of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Nova University of Lisbon (FCT NOVA) and the Master's in Maritime Logistics program. He had the opportunity to fulfill the two main objectives of this mobility program.

The first objective was to monitor and follow up on the activities being developed by four students in the Integrated Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management program at FCT NOVA who are preparing their master's theses and were selected for the student mobility program to Norway, also planned under the M4ML project.

The second objective was to prepare content for the Master's in Maritime Logistics, specifically the preparation of a Case Study on Shipping, as part of the "Introduction to Maritime Logistics" course unit, which will be taught in the same master's program.
