BEST Almada, present at FCT NOVA, is one of 96 local groups of BEST—Board of European Students of Technology—present in 34 European countries. The main focus is to provide additional education with the help of stakeholders such as FCT NOVA, companies, and institutional partners.
From July 17th to 26th, BEST Almada is organizing a summer course entitled “Fantastic Startups and How to Build Them.” The main objective of this course is to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship in students and give them the necessary tools to create and understand how a startup works today. This course will give students the opportunity to share their cultures, perspectives, and ideas while learning from DEMI professionals.
The course will feature 22 students from all over Europe, promoting a multicultural experience. BEST Courses have core components: academic, social, and cultural.
The academic component will be led by four DEMI professors: Aneesh Zutshi, Ana Sofia Esteves, Belma Rizvanović, and Fernanda Llussá. The course will also include a visit to the Madan Parque startup incubator and a panel discussion on startups.
The cultural and social component of the event includes visits to Lisbon, Sintra, and Almada, as well as sports activities such as bungee jumping and surfing, with the main goal of sharing Portuguese culture while participants share their own.
