CIBEM is a biennial congress promoted since 1993 by the Ibero-American Federation of Mechanical Engineering (FEIBEM) and attended by professors, researchers, professionals, and students of Mechanical Engineering. In addition, CIBEM has been an important forum for discussion over the years, covering topics ranging from the most classic to the most current (biomechanics, new materials, nanotechnologies, microfluids, new energy sources, new product development concepts, advanced modeling, digital manufacturing). Professionals face major challenges, such as interaction and integration with other engineering fields, which are required by the new Production environments based on Industry 4.0.
In this context, participants at CIBEM 2017 from the Ibero-American region will have the opportunity to present and discuss their work with experts and researchers, giving rise to new ideas and synergies that could influence the development of mechanical engineering.
At the end of the XIII CIBEM, two Career Awards will be presented to one personality from Portugal and another from the Ibero-American region, whose academic or industrial curriculum has stood out in the teaching or practice of Mechanical Engineering. Two prizes will also be awarded for the best papers presented at the XIII CIBEM: one of the prizes will be awarded to a young engineer (up to 35 years of age, first author) who presents an innovative paper with an impact on the community; the second prize will be awarded in the same way, but without age restrictions. The authors of the winning papers will receive a certificate authenticated by the CIBEM organization.
