NOVA FCT celebrated its 48th anniversary on 12 November with a ceremony that filled the Grand Auditorium and brought together the entire academic community, institutional partners, and guests. The event highlighted the faculty’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent, fostering creativity, and promoting knowledge at the intersection of science, technology, and society.
As is tradition, the session placed a strong emphasis on recognising student achievement through the awarding of prizes, academic distinctions, and merit scholarships. DEMI students were no exception, with their work, dedication, and excellence acknowledged across several categories.
At the Bachelor's level, Tomás Piedade, in Mechanical Engineering, and Margarida Garcia, in Industrial Engineering and Management, were distinguished. In the Integrated Master’s programme, awards were presented to Mafalda Pinto, from Mechanical Engineering, and Diogo Gomes, from Industrial Engineering and Management. At the Master’s level, recognition went to Francisco Carrega, in Mechanical Engineering, and Sara Mendes, in Industrial Engineering and Management.
The award for Best Student in Quality Planning and Control 2024/2025, within the Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management, was presented to Ana Rita Martins. Sponsored Merit Scholarships for 2025/26 were also awarded: Nuno do Carmo received the scholarship for the Integrated Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, sponsored by NAVIGATOR, while Guilherme Figueiroa Gomes and Dúlio Coelho were recognised in the Master’s in Maritime Logistics, sponsored by Grupo Sousa.
DEMI congratulates all the awarded students for their achievements and for their ongoing contribution to strengthening the excellence of both the department and NOVA FCT.
