On October 14th, IPQ celebrates World Standards Day, a day that highlights the importance of standards for business competitiveness and the advancement of innovation.
As in previous years, IPQ is promoting several initiatives to mark the event, including events, standards promotion campaigns, and the sharing of testimonials, with the aim of reinforcing the importance of standardization in different sectors of society.
Among the testimonials shared, one stood out: professor and researcher Alexandra Tenera (DEMI/UNIDEMI), who emphasized the role of education and academia in bridging the gap between science and society:
"Education and academia bring science closer to society, transforming knowledge into social impact. In project management, standardization enables a common language for global collaboration for the development and advancement of innovation."
IPQ's celebration of World Standards Day reinforces its mission to promote quality, trust, and harmonization in Portugal, highlighting how standards continue to be an essential tool for meeting future challenges.
