Conclusion | PhD in Industrial Engineering by Samruddha Kokare

Samruddha Kokare's doctoral thesis in Industrial Engineering was defended on April 22nd in the Auditorium of Building IV of the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT). Her presentation, entitled "Integrating Life Cycle Sustainability in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing for Sustainable Metal Parts Production," explores the integration of life cycle sustainability principles into wire arc additive manufacturing for the sustainable production of metal parts, aiming to promote and facilitate decision-making through an online life cycle assessment tool.

The jury was chaired by Professor Virgílio C. Machado, Full Professor at the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT), and included the following members:

• Professor Paul Refalo, Associate Professor at the University of Malta, Malta;
• Professor Francisco G. Silva, Coordinating Professor with Tenure at the Porto Higher Institute of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto;
• Professor Inês A. Ferreira, Adjunct Professor at the Lisbon Higher Institute of Engineering (ISEL);
• Professor Virgílio C. Machado, Full Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon;
