How can immersive technologies contribute to a more sustainable and human-centric industry?
The workshop "Immersive XR for a Sustainable and Human-Centric Industry 5.0" aims to answer this and other questions, bringing together researchers, professionals, and students to discuss and experiment with innovative solutions in Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (XR). The event, organized by DEMI, will take place on July 16, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, in the Agora Room at NOVA FCT, in an in-person format.
The workshop includes an opening session, a panel discussion with international experts, demonstrations and technological experiences, and networking, focusing on the collaboration between NOVA FCT and the SENAI CIMATEC center (Brazil).
Special Guest: Dr. Ingrid Winkler
Dr. Ingrid Winkler is an international leader in the field of immersive technologies applied to Industry 5.0. An Associate Professor at SENAI CIMATEC (Brazil) and a Productivity Researcher (DT-1D grant) from CNPq, she is also Vice-President of the Special Committee on Virtual Reality of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
She leads the INCITE Industry 4.0 Institute, dedicated to science, innovation, and industrial technology, with a track record that includes 44 R&D projects in partnership with companies such as EMBRAER, NVIDIA, Petrobras, SHELL, HP, and Continental Mabor Portugal. She has international collaborations with universities in Portugal, Singapore, and Brazil, and serves as a mentor and advisor on global digital transformation initiatives.
