The Core of Fluid Mechanics and Applied Thermodynamics develops his teaching activity having in charger several disciplines of his scientific area that integrate the curricula of the Integrated Masters in Mechanical Engineer and in Industrial Management. It participates also in the Masters in Renewable Energies and in Energy and Bio-Energy. It assures not only nuclear disciplines like Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer and Applied Thermodynamics, but also disciplines of specialized formation, such as: Thermal Machines, Hydraulic Machines, Energy and Environment, Air Conditioning, among required and optional ones.
The Core is composed by 6 Phd Teachers, and an Invited Phd Teacher. They develop numerical and experimental research work in areas such as Hydrodynamic and Aerodynamic. The Core is provided with a laboratory where there is, among other equipments, a large Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel with a working test section of 1,5x1 m2 cross section ands 9m length.
